Kia ora whanau,
Week one of term two has been very busy in kowhai class; we started the week off with a visit from Ariki’s puppy. We all give her a cuddle.
Within our inquiry unit this term we are looking at the weather and how it affects our school, each day we record the temperature, rain fall, wind spend and humidity. This week we looked at the water cycle – this gave us a better understanding of how different weather happens. Next we are making our own rain gauges so we can record the rain fall in Mangonui. We are seeking 1.5L plastic bottles; if you have any at home that could be donated to Kowhai class we would appreciate it.
Our P.E programme for the start of this term is about team work and problem solving; first we had to move from one side of a bench to the other, passing the opposite team in the middle without getting off the bench. It was very tricky. During our next session we had to hold hands in a circle and move a hoop around our circle without breaking hands- needless to say we aced both activities in record breaking time.
We made mother’s day cards for out brilliant mothers on Friday, we all wrote very special notes to our mum’s and told them why we loved them.
Also on Friday we had wheels day. This was to recognise road safety week. We bought along our bikes, scooters, skate boards and toy cars. Although it rained most of Friday, we were able to get out for a little bit and it was a lot of fun.
Great Anna. Cool photos
What an awesome start to the term. What a great learning environment.
